Energy Cycle – Nintendo Switch – Released: 12/25/17 – $2.99

Short Review (Review copy provided by Sometimes You)

Just read the full review since it is pretty short.

I wonder why they use different art styles for the cats:

Story

There seems to be no story unlike Energy Balance.

Gameplay

This game is a bit easier than Energy Balance because you don’t have to be great at math you just have to pay attention to the three sets of colors. This game all you need to do is match colors by changing a row and eventually match up all the colors in the row. It is really simple which is my biggest issue with it.

Personal Experience

I found this game too easy and it doesn’t have many levels so what you see is what you for an hour or two depending on how good you are. I was able to complete the game in around an hour so most people I’m guessing with be the same. It is a shame that Energy Balance had such life and different modes and then I go to this and it doesn’t have any of that. I’m not even sure why the icon is different from the cat in game.

Final Thoughts

I would say pass on this game. I wish it offered more since at $3 it isn’t that bad but given how easy it is. I was able to beat the game within an hour so I don’t think it is worth it for the content. I do wish it had more stuff like Energy Balance like a story mode and other modes.

UPDATE: 5/31/18

I would give this game a 3 out of 10!

 End Credits

Pretty simple week trying to get through these smaller titles since they are quicker and are a bit old so keep a look out for more reviews tomorrow and the next day…. and the next day…. and the next day…. etc.
