For some reason I confused this with another game but loving it!
Pirate Pop Plus – Nintendo Switch – Released: 5/31/18 – $4.99
Short Review (Review copy provided by 13AM Games)
This is a fairly short review, I give this game an 8 out of 10!
Pretty simple icon but do wish it showed all the different colors:
Story
Simple story, Pete Jr is walking around the island when he notices bubbles floating in the sky. They are filled with people! He finds that Bubble Pirate has created a machine and capturing people to put in bubbles. Pete Jr grabs his anchor to go save the people.
Gameplay
This game is fairly simple your job is to live as long as you can as you pop bubbles to increase your score. From time to time bubbles will drop food, hearts, or coins. These will add more points, fill up your health and allow you to buy new skins, colors, and characters for the game. The villain will appear to change the gravity of the stage after so many bubbles are popped or after you finish a round to send out more bubbles. Once you lose all your lives you will get a high score and be booted back to the main screen. Every aspect of the main screen can be changes from the color of the unit, stickers, bezel color, and button colors. In the shop you can purchase many things including new characters and backlight colors as well. The coins you earn in the game will allow you to buy new thing.
Personal Experience
To be honest I had no idea this game was released on previous consoles. I would have easily purchased this for the 3DS if I knew about it. Kind of surprised by it, I spent a ton of time just trying to be the high scores and unlocking the other characters. I haven’t bothered with any of the other things I can purchase. I like how it looks out of the box but will likely add stickers down the line. I found the game to be pretty fun but there isn’t a ton of content in the actual game.
Final Thoughts
I enjoy playing this game but did find it pretty basic once I unlocked all the other characters. The game is pretty solid but I think it needs a bit more unlocks when it comes to characters and maybe some other backgrounds for the stage. I would give this game a 7 out of 10! Basic game that is really addictive the first few rounds but personally I got bored of it after I unlocked more characters.

Fairly simple game that I confused with another game which is completely my fault but I did have a good few hours playing this game on and off for the last week or so. So either way, let me know how you liked the review, if you plan on picking up the game, and I’ll see you in the next review!
