When you boot up DragoDino, you don’t expect much since it is a $10 game but you don’t expect it to be this bad. Playing the first few minutes makes the game seem like it will be an average platformer with minor inconveniences. Then you play a few levels then another few levels and before you know it the game hasn’t changed since that first level. Besides enemies having slightly different speeds of attack, nothing changes.  This is the overall problem when you start the game it is fairly easy and straight forward. Enemies will highlight that they have a gem that allows you to jump higher and by pass high platforms that you otherwise couldn’t reach once you beat a handful of levels you fight a boss…. and that’s it, that’s the entire game. I honestly don’t have much else to say, the game wants to be a rogue-like type game with enemies randomly having the gems but all the enemies no matter what kind or fairly easy to kill. I played the bulk of the game without dying once and this is because you start off with 3 health points and enemies or breakable terrain will supply you with health from time to time. You can collect coins to level up, buy items, and have higher damage but nothing in the game is that hard. I wish the game had a one hit KO style considering how easy it is so this game is really for children that are first stepping into the world of rogue-like games. Originally I thought this game was going to be a Bubble Bobble type game but it is a bit too easy.

Final Thoughts

Would I recommend this? No… not by a long shot since you can pick up “Ori and the Blind Forest” for double the price and walk away with a masterpiece.
